Abstract: A novel method to suppress the multi-path satellite signals in urban canyons environment is presented. Based on the relationship between the azimuth angle and the elevation angle of the satellite in relation to the direction of the road, the method can effectively judge the current time by comparing the parameters of the azimuth angle and the elevation angle relationship by calculating the pseudorange residual of the satellite to compare with the threshold value satellite and non-line-of-sight satellites, and eliminate non-line-of-sight satellites, reducing the impact of multipath effect, in order to achieve the city canyon environment, high-precision positioning of vehicles. Through the theoretical analysis, simulation and practical test results show that this method can effectively improve the positioning accuracy of the vehicle.

Key words: vehicle positioning, multipath effect, pseudorange residual, elevation angle
