Thermal Environment Simulation and Airflow Distribution Analysis of Passenger Boarding Bridge

Abstract: The thermal comfort of the boarding bridge as a transitional space is important. The harsh environment of transitional space will affect the boarding experience of passengers and even affect the service quality of the aviation industry. The study of air velocity field and temperature field of boarding bridge is carried out by using computational fluid dynamic (CFD) software with reasonably simplified body of the A380 Aluminum Alloy type boarding bridge. The influence and effect of air supply parameters on the air velocity field and temperature field distribution for the boarding bridge are investigated. The distribution rule of air velocity and temperature field of the boarding bridge under the different air supply velocity and temperature are obtained. The optimal air supply speed and air supply temperature of the boarding bridge are determined in accordance with the thermal comfort of the human body. Therefore, it provides some guidance for the environment control and air conditioning optimization of the transition space such as the boarding bridge.
