Thermal Cycling Stability of Paraffin Wax as Phase Change Materials for Solar Energy Storage

Abstract: Thermal stability of phase change materials,paraffin wax including paraffin wax 54#~56#、paraffin wax 56#~58#,and paraffin wax 58#~60#,with melting temperature between 50 ℃~60 ℃,is studied.The melting temperature and latent heat of paraffin wax were determined by using DSC technique after 1,100,200 and 300 times thermal cycles.The accelerated thermal cycle tests indicate that the melting temperature and latent heat of the paraffin wax change slightly.
