Abstract: The research on various types of solar water heaters as well as ways of building integrated solar water heater are summarized．The concept of thermodiode-employed solar water heaters，which integrate solar collection，energy storage and heat extraction，is proposed as wel1．Meanwile，some basic experimental researches on the heat transfer charecteristics of thermodiode are carried out，and some conclusions drawn．
