Abstract: It mainly studies the characteristics of bent camber feather pieces and establishes the mathematical model for the moment of inertia. First, the corresponding graph of the relation between the quality distribution and length of natural feathers was obtained by measuring the feather leaf and feather stem. Then, the influence of bending and camber on the moment of inertia was considered, the computational formula for the moment of inertia of the bent camber feathers was gained when the mass distribution graph of feathers with different degrees of bending and camber was offered. Finally, the moment of inertia on all the rotational axes with the symmetry center as the coordinate system was got, based on the parallelaxis theorem of the moment of inertia. The simulation results show that different kinds of bending and camber have influenced the moment of inertia of feathers. Therefore, the research on the characteristics of curved camber feathers has certain practical significance.
