Abstract: In recent years, researchers have had much insight on public event evolution in microblogging, which can help the early warning of public events and social management. This paper attempts to summarize the existing research achievements on public events detection, evolution model and construction of public event corpus, and provide comments and analysis on current research and related theories and methods. In addition, it makes references for further research on the construction of public events corpus，public events automatic detection and evolution analysis in microblogging, which can provide future work with some guidelines．
