Abstract:

Based on the aging mechanism of automotive catalyst, a comprehensive performance test bench for automotive catalysts is established to have a 160-hour accelerated aging on the catalyst. The performance of catalyst before and after accelerated aging is compared, and an analysis of correlation and emission by European test cycle for a vehicle after its catalyst being aging on the bench and real vehicle is made. The results show that the light-off temperature of CO, THC, NOx rises by 38.5%, 28.4% and 37.3% respectively after rapid aging of the catalyst on the bench for 160 hours. In addition, compared with the real vehicle catalyst aged after 160 000 km, the emission of THC, CO, NOx, NMHC among the vehicle with the 160 h-rapid aging catalyst on the test bench increases respectively by 8.6%, 11.3%, 3.8% and 13.7%.
