Abstract:

The soil characteristics and bioavailability of heavy metals in the PRD areas are described, and the effects of soil iron, manganese and aluminum oxide minerals on the bioavailability of heavy metals mainly summarized. The results indicate that soil minerals can greatly reduce the migration and transformation of heavy metals in soil-crop system and effectively improve the quality and safety of agricultural products.

Key words: Pearl River Delta (PRD); heavy metals; bioavailability; oxide minerals
