Effects of Length of CFS on Flexural Behavior for RC Beam

Abstract: Based on the tests of seven simply supported reinforced concrete beams strengthened with continuous carbon fiber sheet, the influence and effect on flexural strength in different layers and lengths of carbon fiber sheet are analyzed, including cracking load, ultimate load, stiffness and stress distribution of carbon fiber sheet. The conclusions of the tests and the results calculated with finite element method are compared and can prove the credibility and generality of finite element method for reinforced concrete beams strengthened with carbon fiber sheet. The results show that the bearing capacity, stiffness and modality of crack are obviously improved. Strengthening method with carbon fiber sheet is convenientand efficient.
