Study on Synthesis and Oxygen Permeability of Copolymer Hydrogel Containing Silicone for Contact Lens

Abstract: In this paper,by noumenon polymerization method,PVP copolymer hydrogel is made using(HEMA) and NVP as monomers,N,N′-methylene bisacrylamide(Bis) as crosslinker and azobis iso butyro nitrile(AIBN)as initiator.The oxygen transmissibility of PVP copolymer hydrogel is analysized.It is found that oxygen transmissibility increases with the increase of NVP in the copolymer hydrogel,and decreases with the increase of KH570 in the copolymer hydrogel.Dk/L amounts to the maximum 45cm~3/(cm~2·s·mmHg)when the content of KH570 is 8%;it increases with the increase of temperature,and decreases with the increase of the membrane’s thickness.
