Two and Three-dimensional Stability Analyses of Slopes with Local Load on Top Surface(Ⅰ)——Using Strength Reduction Finite Element Method

Abstract: Different equivalent area Drucker-Prager yield criteria on π-plane,such as DP4,DP5 and DP6 yield criteria,can give an approximate estimation of soil failure strength under plane strain condition,which is why the equivalent area DP yield criteria are widely used for two-dimensional slope stability analyses.Combining true triaxial strength failure tests of sand,it demonstrates from quantitative point that the DP4 yield criterion is conservative for safety factor prediction of slope stability,where...
