The Seismic Response Analysis of Frame-shear W all Structures under Uni-and Bi-directional Seismic Excitation

Abstract: The spatial model of element regular and symmetrical frame-shear wall structures is established,and the elasto-plastic seismic response of structures under uni-and bi-directional seismic excitation is analyzed.The analysis results,including maximum displacement of comer columns,maximum story drift,time—history curves of vertex aeceleration and time-history curves of vertex displacement,are compared.It is found that RC frame.wall structures
will suffer qreater damage under bi-directional seismic excitation than uni-directional seismic excitation.It is difficult to reveal the true seismic performance of structures under the actual earthquake only trough the uni-directiona dynamic analysis.
