Study of the Structure and Properties of Dynamically Vulcanizated EPD I／PP／HDPE Blends

Abstract: The mechanical properties，rheological properties and thermal properties of high density polyethylene (HDPE)／ethy1 ene propyl ene diene monomer(EPDM)／polypropylene(PP)blends were studied，and the microstructure of TPV was investigated by scanning electron microscope(SEM)．Experimental results show that with the increase of HDPE，the tensile strength，tear strength and the shore A hardness of TPV decrease，that the maximum torque increases to the maximum before it gradually becomes stable during the rheologcal test，and that the thermo-gravimentric temperature and the decomposition temperature hardly change，compared with the TPV without HDPESEM analysis shows that the structure of HDPE shel1．core wrapped by EPDM increases with the increase of HDPE．
