Abstract: In order to study the diffusion rules of formaldehyde in indoor furniture, it studies the temperature and relative humidity effects for formaldehyde emission in the four typical materials (composite floor, bench seat, cabinet, wall cabinet) by the use of environmental chamber experiments. The release rate E was defined and the close linear correlation was found between the natural logarithm of temperature change and the release rate by regression analysis (correlation coefficient  r=0.993 6~0.999 5). The results show that formaldehyde emission rate will be strengthened with the increase of temperature and humidity in sample materials. And the formaldehyde emission will be greater under the hightemperature and highhumidity environment. The results can be applied to prevent indoor pollution and have significance for indoor design in hot and humid southern areas and in heating northern zones. It also has reference for the optimization of treating heat, moisture and contaminants of room ventilation and air conditioning system.
