Analysis of the Causes of New Energy Flammable Ice and Its Environmental and Geotechnical Problems

Abstract: Flammable ice,also called “Gas hydrate,”will be the largest new energy in the future.The causes of flammable ice and its environmental and geotechnical problems are analyzed first from the pevspective of geology ,rock and soil mechanics.It shows that such environmental and geotechnical problems as greenhouse effect,submafine landslide,ecological balance destruction will be caused possibly by irrational exploitation of flammable ice.
