    Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2015, 32 (04): 17-20.   DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2015.04.003
    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(342KB)
Mechanoluminescence is a type of luminescence caused by the application of mechanical energy to solids. In this paper, powder of BaZrSi3O9 is synthesized by the conventional solid state reaction. Then thermoluminescence and mechanoluminescent properties are studied. Phase and crystal structure of the obtained materials can be determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Hence photoluminescent spectrum and mechanoluminescent measurement show that the emission peak is about 435 nm. The mechanoluminescence results present that the intensities of samples are well dependent on the stress, indicating that these mechanoluninescent materials can be potentially used as sensors to detect the dynamic visualization of stress distribution of an object. The results also suggest that the trap and the worse symmetry of crystal structure are responsible for the mechanoluninescent intensity of BaZrSi3O9.

    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(910KB)
Bi2NiMnO6 (abbreviated as BNMO) thin films grow on LaNiO3 buffered Si(100) substrate prepared by chemical solution deposition. The structure of the thin films is characterized by X-ray diffraction, and both the ferroelectric properties and leakage current behavior are measured by ferroelectric tester at room temperature. The results suggest that they have become crystalline phases in the two samples annealed in N2 and O2 respectively. The ferroelectric properties appear in all samples under room temperature and the BNMO sample shows a fairly low leakage current density. Furthermore, the mechanism of electrical conductivity is also investigated in the paper.

    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(1205KB)
Presently the researches on performance of GaAs solar cell using high concentrators have mainly been conducted under the condition of indoor simulating light source. However, there are few studies conducted in outdoor conditions. In this article, a small-scale Fresnel concentrating system is designed and built for experiment. Then, the system’s compositions as well as operating principles are introduced. According to the result, the geometric concentrating ratio is 500 and the radiation peak value reaches 948 W/m2 at 13:00. The value of short-circuit current of a single solar cell is magnified to 253 times by using the concentrator while the value of open-circuit voltage increases by 0.34 V and the temperature of the solar cell’s back is 86.6 ℃. When shortcircuit gets the peak value, open-circuit voltage can not reach the peak value for the increase of chip’s temperature. The peak value occurs at 10:30 am and its value is 2.85 V. The open-circuit voltage has 0.03 V more than the value of radiation at peak. In this case, the temperature of the solar cell’s back reaches 74.4 ℃.

    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(671KB)
In this paper the antibacterial effect of tannin in vitro and its influencing factors are investigated. The minimal inhibitory concentration is measured through the agar dilution, and the antimicrobial properties are screened by filter disc method in food system. By using agar-comparing method, various antibacterial factors in food system such as pH value, sodium chloride concentration, sucrose concentration, metal ions and organic acids, on its bacteriostatic effect are screened. The results show that tannins have good antibacterial activities on Staphylococcus aureus and Micrococcus luteus, MIC of which is 0.39 mg/mL and 0.09 mg/mL respectively. Under the condition of acid, or under the synergism of citric acid and lactic acid, the antibacterial effects of tannic acid on food spoilage organisms increase; and the bacteriostatic effects are stable for NaCl, sucrose and metal ion. Compared with potassium sorbate, it seems to have a better effect on food and the MIC of which is lower than potassium sorbate. Tannins with organic acid together are more conducive to the antibacterial activity, which have a wide pH range. With added salt and sugar food, tannins can weaken the use of salt or sugar, and be beneficial for healthy living.

    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(519KB)
Extraction of fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) is currently focused as a prominent issue of medical research. Theoretically FECG can be extracted from the maternal abdominal recordings by conventional blind source separation algorithm. But in the complexity of the real environment, there must be with the proviso that the recordings need to meet the linear mixing model of Blind Source Separation (BSS). This problem will be more difficult in noisy environment. In view of this fact, our paper introduces a discriminant method of BSS based on FECG correlations analysis. The sparse areas of signals are found firstly, and then we can calculate the correlation values of these areas as a judging criterion on the basis of whether the recordings meet the model of BSS so that FECG can be extracted from these observations by conventional BSS methods. Finally, using this discriminant method, the researchers can obtain better performance of extraction or choose other methods which are more interesting.

    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(559KB)
Wireless sensor networks consist of small battery-powered devices with limited energy resources. Hence, energy reduction of sensor nodes and the lifetime prolonging of the network are the focuses of wireless sensor networks routing protocol. LEACH (Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) is a clustering-based protocol that utilizes randomized rotation of local cluster base stations (cluster-heads) to evenly distribute the energy load among the sensors in the network. However, LEACH is inappropriate in the selection of cluster heads, inducing the imbalance of energy over sensor nodes. In order to make the process of selecting cluster heads more reasonable and more flexible, in this paper, the node’s properties (such as the residual energy and position distribution of sensor nodes) are defined as the constraints. The authors take a rolebased collaboration model (i.e., E-CARGO model) with constraints into the wireless sensor networks system modeling, and improve LEACH from the mechanism view by considering the constraints of sensor nodes and using LEACH algorithm assign roles to them. Analysis shows that the new method has better scalability and flexibility. Experimental results present that this new method can effectively balance the sensor node energy consumption and prolong the lifetime of network.

ZigBee protocol uses the combination of AODVjr and Cluster-Tree algorithm as its own routing algorithm (ZBR). But the routing algorithm does not combine the advantages of both ones so it leaves little possibility to improve the performance of network. In order to solve the problem, this paper proposes an algorithm which combines the advantages of AODVjr and Cluster-Tree routing algorithm, i.e. ACZBR algorithm. This algorithm uses Cluster-Tree algorithm within cluster and uses AODVjr algorithm between clusters. Meanwhile, in order to avoid dead nodes caused by excessive energy consumption of cluster-head nodes, this algorithm uses a cluster-head adaptive switching strategy to ensure the network performance. The simulation result shows that the ZBR algorithm has greatly improved the performance of network lifetime, packet loss rate, delay and etc.

In order to solve the problem of positioning blind areas in case of sparse nodes, an improved self-localization algorithm of wireless sensors network is proposed based on the traditional AOA algorithm (triangulation method). By applying this new algorithm, the unknown node needs only one neighbor anchor node before realizing the positioning when the angle of the node’s baseline and the absolute coordinate axis is given. Simulation experiments prove that on the condition of the same amount of nodes the improved self-localization algorithm of wireless sensor network enjoys higher positioning efficiency and lower average localization error compared with the traditional AOA algorithm. Therefore, the improved algorithm is applicable in the network environment of sparse nodes.

    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(837KB)
A fast algorithm based on interlaced extracting modes, statistics of pixel gradient and residual of sub-CU for intra prediction in High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is presented in this paper. Corresponding to 33 intra angle modes in HEVC, gradient directions are divided into 33 classes. And gradient direction of every pixel in a CU is calculated. Angle modes with even number are calculated and ranked firstly, then the set of candidate mode is gained by fast comparison. According to the cumulative number of pixels in every class of gradient direction, some candidate modes can be rejected. When calculating Hadamard Transform predicted residual (SATD) of current PU, SATDs of the four sub-PUs are noted. According the relative ratio of them, the traversal calculation of next depth of current PU is rejected. Experimental results show that, compared with HM13.0, the proposed method performs about 54% time saving of intra encoding with only 1% increment on the total rate.

    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(781KB)
According to the randomness of determining the order of the classical Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), affinity propagation(AP) clustering is recommended to get the order of GMM automatically. A method is proposed to recognize the speakers by applying both AP and GMM. Firstly, the speech feature parameters are extracted by combining the Mel frequency cepstrum coefficient (MFCC) with the differential cepstrum. Secondly, the affinity propagation clustering (AP clustering) method is used as the clustering of the speech feature parameters, and then the best steps of GMM are obtained automatically. On this basis, GMM model is trained. Finally, the trained GMM is used for recognizing experiment of speakers on Timit standard speech library and self-made network volunteers’ speech library. The experiment results are: the test results are 100% on Timit standard speech library and 97.6% on self-made network volunteers’ speech library in case of obtaining the order of GMM by AP clustering algorithm. There are 168 samples for training which contain 10 Chaoshan samples and 10 Hunan samples and 42 samples for testing on self-made network volunteers’ speech library. The experiment results show that the recommended AP clustering algorithm to get the order of GMM automatically can improve the accuracy and efficiency of speaker recognition significantly.

An approach is proposed to obtain the dictionary capacity of bag of words(BoW) model efficiently, which is combined with The Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model to analyze the performance of scene category. Based on the feature matrix of scene image data sets constructed by SIFT feature, the affinity propagation method is firstly employed to obtain the clustering numbers, and to take the minimal clustering number as the visual dictionary capacity before generating a visual dictionary. Secondly, the scene training and testing sets are described by these visual words. Finally, the LDA model is employed to classify the testing data set. The experiments show that the proposed approach in this paper maintains higher accuracy of scene classification and can improve efficiency greatly.
