    XU Wei-Chao, MA Ru-Bao
    Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2015, 32 (3): 1-4.   DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2015.03.001
    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(307KB)
As an important tool in correlation analysis, correlation coefficients have been extensively studied and applied in many science and engineering fields. Based on two commonly used bivariate contaminated Gaussian models, this paper reviews and compares the robustness of five correlation coefficients in environments with single-channel and double-channel impulsive noise, respectively. Theoretical results indicate that the most popular Pearson′s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient is very sensitive to impulsive noise interference. On the other hand, the other four coefficients demonstrate their robustness against impulsive noise in the two models.

    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(369KB)
Epiphany is a critical step in the process of creative thinking. However it can only occur accidentally for want of the key heuristic information. With the development of information technology and extenics theory, how to enhance individual epiphany ability and make it a necessity have become a newlyemerging field of study. Based on the epiphany prototype heuristic theory, starting from the three stages of individual epiphany — to break the thinking set, activate prototype and acquire the critical heuristic information, the present paper tries to construct an information model and a route for creative thinking. Assisted by information technology, the paper combines the relevant theories of creatology, extenics and TRIZ, with the basicelement theory and extension transformation method as its basis. Teaching practices have proved that this approach can facilitate breaking the mental set and, to some extent, help make epiphany a certainty.

    Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2015, 32 (3): 23-27.   DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2015.03.005
    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(338KB)
For multi-attribute decision making (MADM) problems with key attributes, a new decision making approach on the base of error-eliminating theory is proposed. Firstly, multi-attribute decision making problem under “one vote negation system” situation is proved the same as multi-attribute decision making problem with key attributes. Secondly, the concepts of non-optimal strategy and non-dominated strategy are given on the basis of error-eliminating theory. Thirdly, non-optimal strategies are excluded from the set of alternative strategies by the way of calculating error values, and the non-dominated strategies are prioritized and selected according to the error deviation degree. The rationality and feasibility of this model will be shown by an illustrative example finally.

    Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2015, 32 (3): 28-33.   DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2015.03.006
    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(1273KB)
This paper investigates the asymptotical stabilization via state feedback for a class of chaotic systems with a quantizer connected on the input channel. The nonlinear terms in the dynamic equation of the chaotic system are represented as the homogeneous functions with arbitrary known orders. The quantizer has one adjustable timevarying parameter with the updated law to be designed, and thus it can quantify adaptively online the state variables of the chaotic systems according to control scheme. With the help of the updated law and adaptive law of estimated boundary error of quantization, the nonlinear adaptive controller is proposed in this paper to ensure the chaotic system to be stabilized asymptotically in the presence of the quantizer. Finally, some simulation examples are utilized to demonstrate the validity of the results in this paper.

    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(0KB)
In this approach, the intelligent portable electronic nose with a gas sensor array containing ten gas sensors was used to collect the odor information of different varieties of pungent Chinese herbals. In order to get a new sensor data processing solution to pattern recognition of the Chinese herbals accurately, a manifold algorithm named Locally Linear Embedding(LLE)was used to finish the dimensionality reduction and feature extraction of the odor data. And then the Fisher Linear Discriminant Analysis(LDA) was adopted to complete the identification via clustering. After many times of experiments to optimize the parameters of LLE, the classification results are quite perfect. The results demonstrate that by using this new combined method, the electronic nose can not only distinguish 6 types of Chinese herbals, but also identify the 3 different batches and the 3 different denominations of origin accurately, which provides a new method for further analysis.

The glassy powder of the Bi-Si-B-Zn-Al-O system is prepared by sol-gel and melt-quenching methods. The powder is characterized by means of XRD, SEM, EMAX, IR, DSC/TG, and the similarities and differences of the microstructure under different preparations are explored roughly. The results show that both of the two have amorphous structure. Compared with melt-quenching one, the glassy powder of solgel method can be broken easily, and the particle size in the range of 1~10 μm is obtained after ball milling, the element of which is relatively close to the designed. The network structures of the two kinds of glassy powder are similar, the [BiO3] triangular, [SiO4] tetrahedron and [BO4] tetrahedron forming the glass′s basic network, but the meltquenching glassy structure in [SiO4] tetrahedron tends to be like framework, which makes the powder structure more stable, the glass transition temperature slightly higher than the sol-gel glass, and both of them are less than 600℃.
