Analysis of the Application of Energy Saving Technology to Air Conditioning Systems on the Subtropical Campus

Abstract: Campus buildings have different performance characteristics in air conditioning systems because of their building functions and using habits. The energy saving technology and environmental protection on the subtropical campus were discussed. The technology was applied to the air conditioning system on the new campus of a university in a southern city in China. The research shows that using different kinds of air conditioning equipments according to the appropriate function and scale of buildings has significant effects. On the other hand, the flow of fresh air and the volume of frozen water or cooling water are reasonably adjusted by the variable frequency technology according to the timeliness of buildingusing habits. Furthermore, some energy can be conserved through the relevant supplementary equipment for further use of heat.
