    Lin Zhi
    Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2012, 29 (2): 1-6.   DOI: doi:10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2012.02.001
    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(1520KB)
The mixing and transport of scalar fields in fluids are fundamental phenomena in nature and in engineering.  However, there have been various measures and models for quantifying mixing.  In recent years, signficant research efforts have been dedicated to the study of a mutiscale mixing measure related to Sobolev norms. It reviewed some common mixing measures, applied them and corresponding mathematical approaches to a test problem, and considered the optimal control problem for scalar mixing. Besides, it explored the possibility and advantanges of using multicale mixing norms as the unified mixing measure from both analytical and computational perspectives. The research shows that this will provide a theoretical and numerical research framework to evaluate, predict and control scalar mixing and transport in practical applications.

    Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2012, 29 (2): 7-14.   DOI: doi:10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2012.02.002
    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(851KB)
Following Cantor set and fuzzy set, extension set is another basic set put forward by Chinese scholars. It explored the degrees that research objects possessed certain characteristics and their transformations from transformable perspective. The degrees were weighed quantitatively by the use of dependent functions. Then, they were used to study changing classifications, classified changes and the transforming of contradictory problems.  The differentiation and affiliation of the three sets mentioned above were analyzed, and the recent research progress in the formation of elementary dependent functions in extension sets was introduced. The farther lucubrating for dependent functions in extension sets will have important scientific significance and applied values for  extension strategy generating system, extension data mining, extension control and extension detecting, etc.

    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(631KB)
The effects of H2O2 mass concentration, Fe2+ mass concentration, pH value, microwave power and irradiation duration on pollutant removal were investigated during microwaveassisted Fenton oxidation. Chelated copper wastewater was treated by single microwave, single Fenton oxidation and microwaveassisted Fenton oxidation under the most favorable conditions. The mechanisms of microwaveenhanced Fenton oxidation were analyzed. The optimal operating conditions during microwaveFenton process are as follows: microwave power=680 W, irradiation time=10 min, dosage of Fenton was H2O2(30%)=130 mL/L, FeSO4·7H2O=5 g/L. Under these conditions, COD Cr  decreases from 14 750 mg/L to 1 327 mg/L, and Cu2+ decreases from 968 mg/L to 55 mg/L. Compared with those by means of the microwaveoxidation process, the removal rate of  COD Cr and Cu(II) decreased evidently both in single microwave and single Fenton oxidation.

    Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2012, 29 (2): 54-57.   DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2012.02.010
    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(578KB)
The human-body capacitor is an important parameter in electrostatic discharging model (ESD). In the tunnel environment, multiple electricmirror images of dielectric medium were employed, and the humanbody capacitors of the system were calculated, based on the uniqueness of electric field solutions. The capacitors’ dependence on humanbody, tunnel shape, the humanbody position in relation to the tunnel, and dielectric constant, was also investigated. The calculations show that the humanbody capacitor is very sensitive to the figure of the humanbody and the shape of the tunnel, but not closely related to the humanbody position in the tunnel. Furthermore, the humanbody capacitor depends on the dielectric constant of the environment and the capacitor maximum peak which is 115 times than that in free space appears at εr=7(the dielectric constant of dry coal is εr=63), which reveals the importance of electrostatic safety in the tunnels of mines.

    Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2012, 29 (2): 58-62.   DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2012.02.011
    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(1139KB)
Electric-field characteristics of composite insulators under polluted and wet conditions can effectively reduce the risk of composite insulator flashover. The surface thickness and uniformity of composite insulators were researched, and the simulation model for two-dimensional electric fields of 110 kV composite insulators was established via the software Comsol Multiphysics. The finite element method was applied to calculate the potential and field distribution for 110  kV under polluted and wet conditions. The research shows that the effect of uniform water is related with pollution layer conductivity, and that the umbrella group of the composite insulator near the high voltage supports higher voltage if pollution layer conductivity increases to 10-7S. When there are drops dripping on the surface of the composite insulator, the electric field intensity surrounding the drops grows rapidly.

    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(1415KB)
Nb was applied to the cast high speed steel (HSS) cutter to refine the ascast structure. The structure and hardness at different solid solution temperatures and tempering temperatures were studied. The results show that with solid solution temperature ranging from 1 200 ℃ to 1 220 ℃, the carbide distributes homogeneously as isolated granular. While the temperature is lower than this range, the feathery carbide in the grain boundaries can not be fully dissolved, but while it is higher than this range, granular NbC starts to dissolve. Tempered at the temperatures ranging from 570 ℃ to 580 ℃, fine acicular martensite and least amount of residual austenite can be obtained. While the temperature is lower than this range, coarse martensite and more amount of residual austenite can be obtained.

An Algorithm for Underdetermined Blind Source Separation Based on l1 norm

    Xie Zhong-de
    Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2012, 29 (2): 89-93.   DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2012.02.018
    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(635KB)
A new twostep algorithm for underdetermined source separation is proposed. Mixing matrix was estimated via clustering methods based on potential functions. Sources were estimated by means of a fast sparse reconstructed algorithm. Every solution to the system equation A(st)=x(t)was expressed as the sum of one of its special solution and a group of linear combination of the basic solution to the corresponding homogeneous linear equation。The number of independent variable needed for estimation was reduced from n to n m. Blind source separation of signals was done by means of sparse representation. The new algorithm is easily implemented and runs fast, which can well meet the requirements of the blind separation for speed. Simulation experiments show that the proposed algorithm has very good separation efficiency and precision.

    Abstract    HTML ( )   PDF(1187KB)
Combining transformers with campus architecture is a new advertising method. It proposes a method of transforming an architecture model  into a robot, and introduces an approach of applying mainfeatures, motion path and key frame to deal with 3D model transformation. The library model was disassembled into parts which could be bound with bone skeletons of the transformer. By specifying the motion path and setting key frames, the animating process of transformation from a library building to a robot can be achieved. Vray rendering software and Adobe Premiere software were used to render aftereffect process. Finally, an animation video of library transformation was generated. Thus, a library transformer character that can make different poses was created.
