Some Discussions about the Curve Positioning Base on the Arclength Equation of the Spiral Curve in Highways

Abstract: According to the expression of the spiral curve, the questions hidden in the arclength positioning of the spiral curve in highways were discussed, and the problems with using feature parameter A upon the spiral curve positioning were analyzed. It presents the spiral curve arclength equation and its using superiorities, based on the research of the osculation theory in geodesic line. Examples were given to illustrate the positioning technique depending on the spiral curve arclength equation. There are 4 conclusions, which are of great scientific and technological significance.
