Abstract: The water quality and algae quantity of Lakes A and B in HEMC were monitored during Nov 2011 to Oct 2012. Assessed by the method of marking, Lakes A and B were at the level of heavy eutrophication, the water quality tended to exacerbate, and the nutrients accumulated gradually during the research period. The water quality and its fluctuation were related with the surface shape and surrounding environment and lakeshore of the lakes. The shoreline index developments of Lakes A and B were 1.91 and 1.38, so it was easy for them to be rich in eutrophication. The variations of algae quantity in one year were similar in both lakes, remaining steady at 105, algae were in rapid proliferation from March to July, and their quantity reached an annual peak in July, which was influenced by the climate, lake functional planning , and the concentration and proportion of constant and trace nutrients. 
