Abstract:

AI-2 is used to report strain Vibrio harveyi BB170 detecting luminescence ability of culture supernatant. Using crystal violet staining method, the effect of exogenous microbial culture supernatant on Escherichia coli biofilm formation is quantitatively analyzed. Results show that culture supernatant can induce V.harveyi BB170 luminescence, containing quorum sensing signal molecule AI-2. Culture supernatant significantly enhances E.coli biofilm formation, especially the supernatant of Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus. When adding furanone, bioluminescence is reduced and AI-2 activity inhibited.
