Abstract: Based on the cross-sectional statistical data in construction industry at province level of China in 2002,this article establishes non-parametric analysis models with concave and convex efficiency frontiers,respectively.The production technical efficiency values of 31 provinces,municipalities and autonomous regions have been calculated.Their orders have been compared.The results show that larger economic scales belonged to Zhejiang,Jiangsu,and Guangdong,more labour employments were in Jiangsu,Sichuan and Zhejiang,and more capital input in Guangdong,Jiangsu and Beijing.Relatively,Shanghai and Zhejiang obtained higher production technical efficiency values,and Guangxi,Jiangxi and Hainan got lower ones.Besides,labour-intensive type went to Gansu,Sichuan and Jiangxi,and capital-intensive type to Guangxi,Guangdong,Tibet and Beijing.The research provides an effective approach to evaluate and compare the production technical efficiency in construction industry of China.
