DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2013.01.001
It has been the hot issues of current theoretical research and practice to seek solutions to social contradictions and conflicts and to improve the management level to maintain social stability and harmonious development. The opposite problem is one type of contradictory propositions whose principles and methods are based on the transforming bridge of extenics. It reviews the transforming bridge method and its application. The transforming bridge method and its principles focus mainly on describing the problemchain of conductive contradiction, the system of contradictory propositions and other problems such as the classification of the transforming bridge, its design, 〖JP2〗its system and its setting. The transforming bridge method has been applied mainly in product design, planning and social management. Future research may be done into the design of a transforming bridge by combining the transforming bridge method and theories with system dynamics, the conflict theory, the social movement theory and the theory of harmony.

Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2013, 30 (1): 25-30.
DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2013.01.005
Based on the investigation of ground collapse in the Guanghua basin, it analyzes the types of ground collapse, spatiotemporal distributing characteristics, control factors and the formation mechanism of karst collapse. The results show that the ground collapse is mainly concealed karst collapse in carbonate rock distribution area, and that the development degree of karst and the overlying loose rock soil mass are the basic formation conditionssubstantial changes in groundwater table and vibration load are the induced dynamic formation conditions of the karst collapse. Regarding the genetic characteristics of ground collapse, some preventive measures, such as controlling underground water level variation and reducing the disturbance of soil, are proposed. The study provides good reference for city construction in the Guanghua basin.

Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2013, 30 (1): 38-44.
DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2013.01.007
The complexity and uncertainty of the soft ground have great influence on the support engineering of deep foundation pit. With regard to a project in the Pearl River Delta under bad geological conditions, it presents a monitoring design in detail. A comprehensive analysis of the monitoring data, such as the horizontal displacement of retaining structures, underground water levels, axial forces of struts, and surface settlement, has been conducted to get some valuable deformation laws to ensure the quality of the foundation pit construction as well as the safety of the surrounding buildings. The influencing factors of the foundation pit supporting structure and the surrounding deformation have also been analyzed.

Finite Element Analysis of Drum Brake Stamping-welding Shoes Based on ANSYS Workbench
Liu Kun, Peng Mei-chun, Lin Yi-qing, Wang Hai-long
Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2013, 30 (1): 92-96.
DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2013.01.017
The finite-element analysis of the brake stampingwelding shoes was conducted, based on software of ANSYS Workbench. Firstly, the sinusoidal distribution rule of positive pressure and friction force along the cambered surface of the brake shoe was analyzed. Then, the discrete loading method of positive pressure and friction force and the boundary conditions was established in a 3-D model. Finally, the size of deformation, stress, strain and the distribution of brake shoes were calculated. The results indicate that deformation, stress distribution of the brake shoes are even, the maximum deformation and the maximum stress occur in two webs with narrow spacing, but they are not beyond the scope of design requirements.

Effects of Technological Parameters on Ni-P-PTFE Composite Copper Coating
He Kai-long, Chen Ying, Mo Song-ping, Feng Jing
Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2013, 30 (1): 101-105.
DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2013.01.019
Effects of technological parameters on copper by Ni-P-polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) coating were investigated. Experimental results demonstrate that with the increase of surfactant concentration and the decrease of the coating thickness, the PTFE content first ascends and then declines while Ni and P content varies in a small range, and the C content declines. When the pH value increases, the coating grows thicker, the PTFE content ascends while Ni and P content varies in a small scale and the C content varies between 3.47% and 4.38%. As the PTFE concentration increases, the coating thickness declines, the maximum PTFE content 3.42% appears at the PTFE concentration 13 mL/L while the Ni and P content in the coating decreases, the C content first drops and then increases. Moreover, the coating thickness increases greatly under a higher bath temperature. The maximum value of PTFE content is 7.26% at 85 ℃. The Ni content decreases at a higher temperature and the P content varies between 9.82% and 10.95%. And the C content decreases with the increase of the temperature.

The Extraction Process of Pinus Massoniana Optimized by Response Surface
Zhang Wei-li, Han Ya-li
Journal of Guangdong University of Technology. 2013, 30 (1): 115-119.
DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1007-7162.2013.01.022
Ultrasonic was employed to extract flavonoids from Pinus massoniana . Conditions for extraction were influenced by some factors, such as ethanol concentration, time and liquid-material ration, so they were optimized by response surface. Experimental results show the best conditions are as follows: the extracting time is 56 minutes, ethanol concentration is 40%, liquidmaterial ration equals 1:20, when the yield of flavonoids is 1.59%.This method is feasible for exploiting the material, and it provides the basis for its utilization. In the Response Surface experiment, compared with the factors of liquid-material ration and extracting time, ethanol concentration and power have greater influence on the extraction.
